I was with this clinic for years and always found Kandi to be very respectable and caring for my health However when it came to discharging me it was probably the most sudden and unprofessional way Ive ever recieved news from a clinic No facetoface with Kandi no referrals to other clinics no previous warnings I walked in late and the guy at the front desk who hasnt even been at the clinic as long as me just kinda shrugs and says Yeah youve shown up late too many times so we gotta discharge you I felt genuinely discarded like I meant nothing After years and I couldnt even get the news from my actual doctor No followup emails nothing The unprofessionalism in that moment especially for news like that will forever stick with me as I search for new clinics
I just wanted to share my thoughts on my experience with Kandi She is incredibly personable and always makes me feel welcome in her office I especially appreciate that she is consistently on time for appointments which makes the whole experience even better I genuinely look forward to my next visit Thank you for the care you provide Jocelyn
Kandi was my first PCP and I was with her for almost yearsall was well and I was listened to UNTIL I lost coverage from AHCCCs and had to self pay Suddenly they werent willing to help me with antibiotics or testing like before referred me to an unreachable clinic and told to deal with an emergency UTI on my own which ended up with me in the ER One of my nerve pain medications was intentionally underfilled despite already lowering the dose of my other nerve pain medication last appointment with Kandi and the clinic making excuses about its because its a controlled substance we can only fix it when you PAY YOUR BALANCE Every pharmacist and medical provider I have opened up to this about afterwards agrees this is discrimination and malpractice I had one appointment under self pay which I could not reschedule without consequencesbut also had no way to pay until the next day to which they let me know they only receive their payments in person or over the phone despite long having had an online portal When the next day came the clinic started ignoring all of my calls and voice mails until my household had to prioritize other bills first Ever since then EVERY interaction I was questioned about when I could pay them I also want to note that during said self pay appointment I had concerns of potential sleep apnea which were shrugged off as anxiety despite me stating I am not usually anxious when I am struggling to breath as I fall asleep This kind of dismissal is extremely common with Kandi for example how she said to my face I dont have POTs because its so rare only for me to eventually be taken seriously and then STILL forgotten about when I use mobility aids Kandi would downplay my issues and my ambulatory use of mobility aids as if I was either lazy or getting worse when its the reality of disability to have good days AND bad days She and her nurses also CHEERED my weight loss on multiple occasions when I was at rock bottom with eating disorders and becoming malnourished Even when I asked them NOT to regard my starving as a good thing they would still throw around praises when I would go days without eating This used to be the clinic Id sing endless praises to all my loved ones about when in reality Kandi Gamerdinger and the FIT Health Care clinic are classist ableist fatphobic and abusive If you have insurance or stable income you may be treated like family and good for you But Im tired of staying quiet about the discrimination I experienced from medical providers I previously trusted with my life
