Im not a person who typically writes a review about a service regardless of how bad the experience was however in this case I felt that it was important to say something to caution others considering how hard we work to grow and care for our hair I did not want others to ruin that hard work by booking an appointment here that could potentially cause traction alopecia I had gotten a sewin done by the salon owner I had contacted the salon on multiple occasions via DM and email regarding the services included they informed me that I could book the sew in and a wash and cut I came with my hair not washed expecting those services to be included like they had stated multiple times before I had booked the appointment Sitting in the chair I was informed that I should have prepared my hair before regardless she took me to the bowl The wash that I did receive was a quick shampoo where her nails were used to scrub my scalp and a conditioner that lasted less than minuets My hair was then blow dried with no product or heat protectant and no prior detangling leading to breakage and knots Seeing the lack of care given I opted to not mention the hair cut fearing a worse outcome I did mention that I needed the stitching to be loosened at a certain point due to how tight the knotting was pulled As someone who doesnt typically have a sensitive scalp I figured that the tension was just in that area I expected to have a tight feeling since the style had just been installed but within hours the installation left my scalp folded in certain areas and inflamed I had to take it out by the evening I was looking forward to becoming a longterm client with Coils and Cotton and was excited to work alongside a professional who could help me care for my natural hair unfortunately this is not what I found She was a charismatic personality creating a very social environment and seemed passionate about her work However this is a caution to others to maybe reconsider the actual service you would like booked here

A nice saloon and nice fun atmosphere the owner is welcoming and fun I came in to braid my hair last week after my booking was changed by the saloon times my appointment which was finally scheduled for pm started late at pm I was happy with the result but after paying the as per their price on the website and text message confirmation from Nelly confirmation of the price and service I was told the price was supposed to be I was not told why but because I was tired as it was pm and I just wanted to go home I gave her and left The following morning I messaged Nelly why the price was changed to I got no response Appointment changes late start and price change on the spot Unfortunately this was my experience at the saloon Apart from this its a really nice place

I had the best experience at this salon Its been forever since I got a treatment honestly my natural hair has a fresh take on life It is so soft I cant stop stroking it lol I cannot recommend them enough and I will be back on a regular basis now that I have a way to better manage my natural hair
